I have finally started listing items in my Etsy Store!

It is only 2 items but I feel like I have gotten the ball rolling at least! I would really love for you all to go check it out. The items are for sell for a good cause; My neighbor's sister passed away a couple of months ago and I was helping her go through her sister's things for support. Her brother in law, at the young age of 90 something, just couldn't deal with the stress of it all. He was actually going to just donate it all to a church here in town.

Well, when we started going through everything, I couldn't believe all the wonderful vintage clothing she had. As we all know funerals are expensive, as if loosing a loved one is not hard enough, the financial burden of paying all the bills is tough. So I asked them if I could take them and sell them on Esty. Given their age, I had to do a bit of explaining, and they loved the idea. So 80% of all the processed are going to him and will hopefully give him a sense of relief.

So far here are the items I have listed:
(Click the links under the pictures to go to their Etsy pages)

My goal is to list one or two items a day as there are so many more I need to list. If you love vintage, you are NOT going to want to miss a single piece!

God bless!

Accounting, Crazy Kids, and Yard Sales

Life has been insane the last 5 weeks, basically, ever since I started my first accounting class. I was not prepared at all for the intensity of it. Had I known that my husband was going to break his leg in 2 places (he ended up with a plate and 10 screws).... leaving him with a full year until he will recover for the most part....
I would have opted for an easier set of classes.....BUT I didn't know, so I am just trying my hardest to do my best and not get too over whelmed with life.

Just in the last week I have:

  • Written 2 essays.
  • Done almost all my homework.
  • Cleaned the yards (they still have a long way to go before we move).
  • Been homeschooling my son.
  • Trying to keep up with the house as best as I can.
  • Washed, what seems like, 100 loads of laundry
  • Taught Sunday school.
  • Helped with church yard sales.
  • Created images and announces for my church, blog and FB page.
  • And actually found time to take a shower or two.
All of which I absolutely love doing, but it is quite a lot to deal with in one week.

My favorite thing I have been doing is using a program on my computer to make signs and quotes for the blog, my Facebook page Home of the Heaton's  and for my church. Here is a little sample of what I have come up with lately:

Here are some that I have made for our church, I have taken out the address and phone number, but you get the general idea:

Church Yard sales:

Youth/Sunday School Fundraiser (Part 1)

Youth/Sunday School Fundraiser (Part 2)

This is for our Wednesday Night Service:

Prayer nights:

There are a few more but I don't want to bore you with a bunch of flyers.

The one thing that I haven't been doing is getting my Etsy shop up and running. I have so many amazing pieces of vintage clothing that I need to list on there and I just have not been able to find the time. I have all the pictures taken and everthing is ready to be uploaded, except the descriptions. I need to write them out for each listing. I keep telling myself I just need to list one a day and it will eventually get done. Then the next thing I know, it's 2 am and I have to get up around seven or eight depending on how long my kiddos let me sleep.

I will like to take a moment to brag on my hubby who has let me sleep in 2 mornings, and it was SOOO wonderful!!!!!

Well as much as I would love to sit and write some more (I love writing this blog, even of no one reads it, it is so therapeutic for me) I must go........ My life is beckoning me.

Hope you all have a great week. And just in case I don't get to post until next week, I hope you all have a very blessed Resurrection Sunday (aka Easter).

God Bless,
Jacque Heaton
